Speaker Bios

Fiona Ransley has supported Autistic people for more than 20 years. This includes working in disability organisations in both Australia and Ireland. Fiona holds a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) degree from the University of Tasmania and graduated with a Master in Disability Studies from Flinders University (Adelaide) in 2015. She has worked at Amaze for 15 years in various roles across the organisation and is currently the Resources and Information Lead developing a range of resources for the Autistic community. Fiona is a member of Developmental Educator with Developmental Educators Australia Inc (DEAI).

Dr Angela Neyland is the Research Lead at Amaze, specialising in lived experience research. In 2024, she oversaw a consultation with more than 700 Autistic students, parents/ carers, and teachers on experiences of school can’t, which informed the development of the School Can’t toolkit created in co-design with families and young people. Angela also brings lived experience to this work as a neurodivergent parent of two Autistic children, having navigated school can’t within her own family, and is deeply committed to centring community voices to strengthen advocacy, understanding, and meaningful inclusion.
