Amaze 2025 Impact Report highlights national progress on autism inclusion

Amaze 2024–25 Impact Report: Strengthening Inclusion and Connection for Autistic People

Amaze’s 2024–25 Impact Report highlights a year of connection, advocacy and practical action to improve life outcomes for Autistic people and their families across Australia. In total we reached over 19,000 people across all our services and programs.

Supporting people through Autism Connect

Amaze’s Autism Connect service provided trusted information, guidance and support to over 10,000 people across the country. The Autism Connect team helped people navigate diagnosis, education, health and everyday challenges, ensuring that Autistic people and their families could access clear, reliable, neuro-affirming information when they needed it most.

Building inclusion in workplaces

Through the A-Plus Program for workplace inclusion, Amaze continued to build the capacity of organisations to create inclusive, neuro-affirming workplaces. This year, 185 managers and People & Culture professionals across 48 organisations participated in Amaze’s neuroinclusion training workshops, with 93% reporting greater confidence to take practical steps to support neuroinclusion in their workplace. Employers such as Bunnings and WPP Media shared powerful stories of positive cultural change and increased awareness of neurodiversity inspired by these sessions.

Influencing national autism policy

In a major milestone for the autism community, the National Autism Strategy was released in January 2025 – a significant achievement shaped by years of advocacy and consultation led by Amaze and the Autistic community. Amaze’s contributions helped ensure that Autistic voices and lived experiences are central to the Strategy’s development.

Building an understanding of inclusive education and School Can’t

Amaze continued to lead national conversations about School Can’t, publishing new resources, running surveys and responding to strong community demand for information and support. Across the year, Amaze also made two key policy submissions and worked with the TAFE sector to promote inclusive education for Autistic students at all levels. There were over 2,000 downloads of Amaze’s School Can’t resources for parents and teachers.

Connecting community

Amaze’s community engagement events brought people together to share stories, celebrate achievements and build belonging. Amaze presented events and activities – including sensory-friendly experiences at Australian Open and Beauty and the Beast, and the Amaze Pride Festival – that connected hundreds of Autistic people and families. Participant feedback and testimonials showed the power of these connections in creating confidence, community and hope for the future.

Driving change in health and wellbeing

Amaze expanded its impact in the health sector, partnering with organisations such as Ambulance Victoria and contributing to national conferences to improve understanding of autism in healthcare settings. This work will continue through new initiatives to increase knowledge and confidence among GPs, allied health professionals and nurses across the state.

The 2024–25 Impact Report reflects Amaze’s commitment to driving long-term change – through trusted information, evidence-informed advocacy, and partnerships that make inclusion real in schools, workplaces, health services and communities.
