Major changes are happening to Victoria’s mental health system following the Mental Health Royal Commission. Amaze has been working closely with the Victorian Government and the broader autism sector to highlight the critical need for better mental health supports for our community and for the design and implementation of mental health system changes to be autism responsive.
There will be many opportunities for people to participate in co-designing new parts of Victoria’s mental health system and Amaze wants to ensure that Autistic people with lived experience of mental health services and their families/carers are heavily involved.
Applications are currently being sought for people with lived experience of mental health services to be on Victoria’s new Mental Health Interim Regional Boards. These Boards are being established across eight regions (four metro and four regional) and will play a central role in regional service planning and co-ordination, and engaging with community on local issues and priorities.
The Board positions are high-profile, paid roles that will require a significant time commitment and would suit candidates with strong leadership and strategic skills.
