Speaker bio

Larney Lamers is a psychologist and clinic director at Inner Light Allied Health in Kilsyth, VIC. She is currently completing her practice endorsement in Educational and Developmental Psychology and has over ten years of experience working alongside neurodivergent children, teens, and families.

Larney is passionate about creating safe, affirming spaces for her clients. She works with children, adolescents, and young adults, with a special interest in supporting autistic individuals, ADHDers, and those with PDA profiles. Her approach is evidence-based and values-driven, drawing on therapies such as ACT, DBT, and CBT, always through a neurodivergent-affirming lens.

She has particular experience supporting families navigating PDA, anxiety, school avoidance, and neurodivergent burnout. Larney loves using special interests to tailor therapy to each individual and often incorporates game-based approaches (like Dungeons & Dragons) to make sessions engaging and meaningful. Her practice is person-centred, strengths-based, and grounded in the belief that every individual deserves to be understood, supported, and valued for who they are. In her therapy sessions, Larney works alongside her therapy dog, Mako, a playful and curious groodle who helps foster comfort, openness, and acceptance in the therapy space.
