Amaze CEO Fiona Sharkie appointed Australian Autism Alliance co-chair and in the running for Pro Bono Award

We are pleased to announce that our CEO Fiona Sharkie has been named co-chair of the Australian Autism Alliance.

The Alliance brings together 12 partners and supporters from around the nation to provide one strong voice for autism.

The role will see Fiona carry out duties as a spokesperson for the Alliance and push for better reforms for autism.

Top on the list is work needed on the hearings of the Senate Inquiry into Autism that takes place soon. The inquiry proves that it is an important year for advancing policies for autistic people.

Fiona has already met with fellow Co-Chair Paul Micallef (pictured left) at the Amaze office recently to kick-start important planning for the year.

In other exciting news, Fiona has been shortlisted for Pro Bono Australia’s 2021 impact 25 Awards and you can help by voting for her to progress to the next stage.

Pro Bono Australia is a major online hub for the not-for-profit sector and helps individuals and organisations grow their impact. This year, the awards recognise and celebrate those who have made an extraordinary impact during the challenging year that was 2020.

The nomination is a recognition of her amazing work over the past two decades and throughout 2020, especially in prioritising supports for autistic people and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Public voting for the awards is now open and if you would like to cast your vote for Fiona, click on the link below.

The public votes will determine the top 25 which will be presented to a panel of esteemed judges who will choose a winner who they believe embodies the attributes of one of each of the three categories: Innovator, Influencer, and Collaborator
