Autism State Plan
In the 2006 pre-election policy, “Addressing Disadvantage”, the Victorian State Government committed to developing the Autism State Plan in partnership with Autism Victoria, with the aim to build new and better approaches for meeting the complex and growing needs of people with ASD.
The Department of Human Services (DHS) worked on the plan with representatives from Autism Victoria, the Department of Education and Early Childhood (DEECD) and the Department of Premier and Cabinet. A draft Autism State Plan was submitted to government in 2008 after extensive consultation with stakeholders. Meredith Ward took the role of Manager – Autism State Plan.
