Launching on 19 March 2026, Hoodie Up is Amaze’s annual fundraiser. Hoodie Up at Work offers a simple and visible way to show support for Autistic and neurodivergent colleagues, clients and communities. Workplaces can take part at any time throughout the year.
An estimated 15−20% of the Australian workforce is neurodivergent. Many Autistic and neurodivergent employees choose not to share their diagnosis or identity due to concerns about bias or career impact. Many others are parents, partners, carers or allies.
Building a neuroinclusive workplace means creating environments where different ways of thinking, communicating and contributing are understood and supported in practice.
By taking part in Hoodie Up 2026, workplaces can send a clear message that Autistic and neurodivergent people are recognised and valued. It can be a meaningful starting point to strengthening neuroinclusive practice.
For many Autistic and neurodivergent people, a hoodie provides comfort and regulation in environments that are not designed with sensory needs in mind.
Wearing one for Hoodie Up at Work is a visible act of allyship and a starting point for conversations about neuroinclusion and accessible workplaces.
You can take part in ways that support your organisation’s journey towards becoming a more neuroinclusive workplace, and celebrate Hoodie Up at any time of year that works for you.
Some organisations choose to participate during Neurodiversity Celebration Week, or Autism Awareness Month, others during Autistic Pride week, or on other days of significance. It is up to you.
