New York Marathon

Michael Silvester’s New York Marathon Challenge

Michael Silvester and his nephew Hamish“My nephew, Hamish was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of 3½ and through the tireless work of many specialists, but most importantly his mother (my sister Nicole) he has made great progress over the past 2 years.

“Like many people, including our family, before Hamish came along I had little knowledge of ASD, but have come to realise the importance of early intervention and how it has enabled Hamish to make some real advances in his development and communication skills.

“He is a fantastic young man and I am very proud to have run the New York Marathon on November 6 in support of Hamish and Autism Victoria. If Hamish had his way, he would have bee on my shoulders for the entire 42 kilometres!”

Congratulations to Michael on a successful run raising around $3000 for the organisation.
