We are very excited that Ivanco Neskovski is the first person to take on the “Around the Bay in a Day” cycling event in support of Amaze and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Ivanco tells us:
“I have always been a keen cyclist, however only really started getting serious in road cycling last year once I joined my new workplace, where there are many keen cyclists and with whom I will be riding this year’s event. I have always liked challenging myself both physically and mentally and this event will no doubt try to break my spirit as I attempt to complete 210km by riding around our infamous Port Phillip Bay! It’s a great event for everyone, both young and old, so I highly recommend you give it a go, if not this year, the next!
“I have chosen to dedicate my ride and get some hard earned cash this year for Amaze (Autism Victoria) as it is a cause which lies close to my heart. My girlfriend’s sister Julia has Autism Spectrum Disorder or ASD and I’ve been lucky to spend some time with her over the years and really find out about what the disorder is and how it can also vary so much from person to person. People are at last starting to really understand this condition that people live with: however sometimes they don’t appreciate the amount of dedication, time, love and commitment it takes from family members to take care of a person with ASD. I am doing this ride as much for them as I am for Julia and also highlighting the work organisations such as Amaze do in order to help families with members with ASD and spread the message of understanding among the community.
“This is the least I can do and is why I am asking for a helping hand in reaching my fundraising target for this year’s Around the Bay challenge! If you can spare a dollar or two it will be much appreciated and remember it’s not too late to sign up for the ride yourself!
“You can send your hard earned via the following address: http://www.everydayhero.com.au/ivanco_neskovski
“I’ll see you at the finish line!”
Best of luck Ivanco – hope it’s a great experience.
