Plenty of Buzz for MSO’s autism-friendly concert
The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is breaking new ground with Pixar in Concert.
On Saturday April 8, the MSO will become the first orchestra in Australia to present a concert in a “relaxed and autism friendly” format.
Pixar in Concert is a compilation of Pixar favourites showing on the big screen with the orchestra on the stage in front playing the score.
From the Toy Story trilogy to The Incredibles and Up, Pixar has given us some of the most loved characters in cinematic history.
In a special school holiday event the MSO will presents all your favourite animated moments like you’ve never heard, or seen, them before: live in concert.
It’s a visually stunning, high-definition, multi-media family show featuring montages of memorable clips from Pixar’s biggest hits including Cars, Finding Nemo, Wall-E, Ratatouille, A Bug’s Life, Monsters Inc. and Brave.
The performance will take place in Hamer Hall, a safe and relaxed environment with various elements adapted to reduce anxiety and discomfort.
As a concert-goer, you can expect:
- Online pre-concert resources
- A relaxed attitude to noise and movement during the concert
- Lights to stay on during the concert
- Chill-out break areas
- General admission seating with reduced capacity
