Keynote: Dr Jon Brock

The 11th annual Autism Spectrum Disorder Research Forum will be held on Thursday 1 November at the Darebin Arts and Entertainment Centre, Bell Street, Preston. The forum provides an excellent opportunity to hear about ASD research currently being undertaken by research teams in Victoria and beyond. The day continues to be an important event on the ASD research calendar, and allows an opportunity to share common interests and concerns in the autism research field. It is suitable for ASD researchers, including students, clinicians, and autism educators, as well as parents interested in autism research. The forum has a strong focus on research matters, and participants should have a reasonable knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders and research methodology.

We are delighted to welcome Dr Jon Brock, a research fellow at the ARC Centre for Cognition and its Disorders and the Department of Cognitive Science at Macquarie University in Sydney, who will deliver our keynote address on The challenge of heterogeneity in autism research. We look forward to welcoming Jon to our meeting. In addition to Jon’s keynote address, the day will include a number of oral (20 – 30 minute) and poster presentations, with a concluding commentary and question time to complete the day.

The Call for Papers/Posters is open from 16 August until 21 September, and the full program will be available at our Research Forum page from 15 October 2012.

Registrations will be opening soon, and details will be available on our website. If you are not already on our Research Forum Mailing List, send an email to lia.castorina@amaze.org.au to be notified of when registrations open.
