Melinda is in Melbourne on 13 July to read some of her poems

Published poet and parent of an 8 year old boy with ASD, Melinda Smith will be in Melbourne on Friday 13 July and will be reading from her book of ASD poetry “Firs….Then…” at 28 Drummond Street, Carlton at 12.15pm on Friday 13 July.

Melinda was funded by ArtsACT to write this short book of poems and has given several readings from her book in her home state, the ACT.

“It’s just a chance for families living with ASD to hear some poems written for us, about us, and by one of us. I find it can be an incredibly validating and healing experience.”

The poems are written from many different points of view – from parents, carers and siblings to verbal and non verbal autistic men, women and children.

This event is free for Amaze members and there is a charge of $10 for non-members.
Please note that seats are limited to 40 and are available on a first-come-first-served basis so please book now to reserve your spot!
